  • Objectives

To provide a platform for information exchange among the government, practitioners and academics;
To promote sustainable bioengineering practices through the integration of scientific-technical hown-how, business opportunities and social acceptance;

To evaluate existing technology in slope safety, bioremediation and cost, and identify the way forward;
To unify the different concepts and practices of slope bioengineering, and
To identify collaborative research needs.

  • Workshop Sub-theme

Theory and practices of slope bioengineering;
Slope bioremediation and the urban environment;
Growth substrate, vegetation choice and post-planting maintenance and management;
Performance and sustainability of established techniques, and
Socio-economic aspects of slope bioengineering.
