Principal Investigator:

LIN, Hui

Co-investigator(s):

----

Summary:
Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are becoming successful solutions for the management of geo-referenced data. Amongst many challenges still opened, the management and modeling of fast changing data is one of the key topics currently addressed by the GIS research community. Potential applications cover many domains from urban to environmental and maritime areas.

The objective of this project is to develop a modeling and data mining approach, together with appropriate visualization interfaces, to represent maritime trajectories, and analyze travel behaviors at different levels: in real-time for monitoring and controlling maritime traffic to improve the safety and efficiency of maritime transportation, globally to analyze trends and patterns in order to favor the development of maritime transportation schemas..
