Principal Investigator:

Co-investigator(s):

Summary:
Feng Shui woodlands are important cultural heritage with unique ecological value that warrant conservation. As a part of the landscape, they attract tourists. They can be important sites of ecotourism that emphasize on nature based, environmentally educated and sustainably managed. In this proposal, we attempt to make use of modern remote sensing and geographic information system technology to extract biophysical and landscape metric data from high resolution IKONOS images. Based on which, analysis of the landscape ecology can be undertaken. Scenario testing can be performed to select suitable feng shui woodlands for various ecotourist activities.
